Senior Platform Engineer (Remote)

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Cloud Architect to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cloud computing platforms, such as AWS and Azure, and possess expertise in designing, deploying, and managing cloud resources. As a Senior Platform Architect, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient allocation of funds and resources while prioritizing the usage of cloud platforms. Additionally, you will provide technical leadership, contribute to major technology assignments, and serve as a subject matter expert within the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain cloud architecture using tools like Terraform, focusing on AWS cloud platforms
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to effectively communicate and deliver technical solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Utilize agile and DevSecOps methodologies to drive efficiency and scalability in cloud resource management
  • Prioritize resource allocation to maximize developer experience and stay within budget constraints
  • Ensure strong security practices are implemented and maintained across cloud resources
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for cloud implementations
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest cloud technologies and industry trends
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members
  • Participate in performance evaluation and recommend improvements for short-term project growth and success

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
  • Extensive experience working as a Cloud Architect, with a focus on AWS and knowledge of other cloud platforms (Azure, GCP, etc.)
  • Proficiency in designing, deploying, and managing cloud native architectures and zero trust principles
  • Strong experience with Kubernetes and containerization technologies, including Helm, Flux, and ArgoCD.
  • Strong experience with Kubernetes and containerization technologies
  • Expertise in using Terraform/Terragrunt for infrastructure-as-code and Git for version control
  • Knowledge of networking, security groups, and policy management in relation to cloud resources
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and experience with tools like GitLab CI and Ansible
  • Solid understanding of Linux operating systems and scripting languages (Java, Python, Go, C++)
  • Experience with microservices architectures and a security-first mindset
  • Familiarity with security frameworks such as RMF, DISA STIG, and CIS Benchmarks is a plus
  • Previous software engineering experience is desirable
  • Must have DoD 8570 IAT Level II or higher credentials. (i.e. Security+, CISSP, etc).
  • Understanding of Cross Domain Solutions is bonus!
  • Experience with security tools such as Zarf, Trivy, OWASP ZAP, or Burpsuite is highly desirable.

Some travel required. Requires Secret Clearance.
